You want to take drum lessons, either with a teacher or on your own with online drum lessons. You'll learn how to work on drumming beats, stick control, and so on. It's fun to play with recorded bands and you can do that. But also make time to work on your practice pad while you can work on your stick control. It may sound boring, but do it!

You will become  a better drummer if you make time for your practice pad.  And don't forget to use your metronome, it adds a lot to your skill as a drummer. You must be able to play in time if you want to play in a band or other type of musical group.

Work with your metronome. Set up tempos with your metronome and play different drum rudiments with each tempo. Spend some of your practice time doing some work with your metronome and you will improve your skills as a drummer.
